Years ago I moved from Denver to Houston, thinking my time in Texas would just be a detour. At that point I figured I’d return to the Rockies in a few short years. Well, time flies and now it is 30 years, four months and a few days later and I have finally laid the groundwork for a return.
On Sunday, I made an offer on a house in Sandia Park, New Mexico, from the Copa Airlines lounge in Panama City (Panama not Florida). I flew back to Houston that evening only to return to the airport the next morning to catch a flight to Albuquerque.
My offer has been accepted and I am on track to close the end of April — just in time to prepare for a mountain summer. After three decades (but who’s counting) living in one of the flattest places on earth, I will have mountain views on three sides.
