Okay, I was nervous. But the ice broke when I stepped outside to take a photo of my name on the venue and talked a couple walking by into buying my book.

I sold some books. Saw many photos of other people’s cats. Heard more than a few lovely cat stories, some sad, some uplifting. The owners, John and James Hoffsis, said I did well.

I came back to the hotel bar to celebrate and sold a book to a couple sitting next to me. Small steps.

In the meantime, the 2018 edition of Voices from the Plains, which includes a chapter from Travels with Cats, is now available.

I’m here in Albuquerque for two more days. Off to enjoy the snow before heading back to Houston.

It is available either in a Kindle version or paperback on Amazon. If you buy the paperback, I’ll make sure to connect with you on my next trip to Nebraska and sign it for you: http://a.co/9XkXtXj
