My new mountain home

Years ago I moved from Denver to Houston, thinking my time in Texas would just be a detour. At that point I figured I’d return to the Rockies in a few short years. Well, time flies and now it is 30 years, four months and a few days later and I have finally laid the groundwork for a return.

On Sunday, I made an offer on a house in Sandia Park, New Mexico, from the Copa Airlines lounge in Panama City (Panama not Florida). I flew back to Houston that evening only to return to the airport the next morning to catch a flight to Albuquerque.

My offer has been accepted and I am on track to close the end of April — just in time to prepare for a mountain summer. After three decades (but who’s counting) living in one of the flattest places on earth, I will have mountain views on three sides.

I had a hunch that that’s why you were going back to New Mexico from Panama so fast. It seems like only two years ago we were at the Grand canyon having lunch talking about this.
      I have exciting news also.

Anne, congratulations on finding the right spot! It’s beautiful. Just a few more days before it’s all yours.
